Comment (Deposit): THE MINE IS LOCATED IS THE 'GREAT BLUE' LIMESTONE. THE PORPHYRY INTRUSION OF SUNRISE HILL CUTS THROUGH THE WESTERN PART OF THE DEPOSIT. THE ORE IS SOFT, PULVERIZED, AND YELLOWISH OR GREYISH. THE OXIDIZED ORE IS LIGHT COLOURED AND MORE FRIABLE THAN THE UNOXIDIZED ORE. IT LACKS SULFIDES AND CONTAINS MORE SULFATES INCLUDING GYPSUM,JAROSITE,SCORODITE AND MELATNERITE. A BRECCIA PIPE OCCURS AT THE CONTACT BETWEEN THE INTRUSIVE NAD THE GREAT BLUE LIMESTONE. THE BRECCIA SHOWS A CRUDE ZONATION OF BRECCIA FRAGMENTS. THE ENTIRE PIPE IN ALTERED TO A SILICEOUS SINTER. THE LIMESTONE HAS BEEN ALTERED TO A LIGHT VIOLET AND RED COLOR NEAR THE INTRUSIVE, OTHER WISE THE ALTERATION APPEARS AS LIGHT BUT IN SILICIFIED LIMESTONES. ; INFO.SRC : 1 M

Comment (Geology): WALLROCKS ARE HIGHLY DEFORMED AND ALTERED. LIMESTONES ARE DARK GRAY, DOLOMITIZED, AND SILICIFIED. AHSLES ARE GREENISH GRAY TO BLACK, CALCAREOUS, SILICEOUS, KAOLIMITIC, CARBONACEOUS, SERICITIC, AND HIGHLY PULVERIZED. EFFECTS OF LIMONITIZATION ARE COMMON ON WALLROCKS. VEINS OF QUARTZ, JASPEROID, AND CALCITE HAVE IMPRENATED THE HOSTROCKS. ORE MINERALS ARE INTIMATELY ASSOCIATED WITH QUARTZ AND JASPEROID VEINS. GOLD IS NOT VISIBLE IN THE ORES AND IS CONCENTRATED IN THE CARBON-RICH PORTIONS FO THE ALTERED ZONES.
