Comment (Deposit): OPENED SOON AFTER MAZUMA HILLS MINE AROUND 1907. FAIRVIEW MINE IS LOCATED HALFWAY DOWN A CANYON THAT STARTS AT A SADDLE SOUTH OF SEVEN TROUGHS, RUNS SOUTH THEN TURNS SOUTHEAST EMBOUCHING AT VERNON. ADJOINING THE FAIRVIEW WORKINGS ON THE NORTH IS THE HARRIS LEASE WITH A 185 FT. SHAFT. IN THE UPPER PART OF THE CANYON IS THE DIXIE QUEEN SHAFT AND THE CLEGHORN CONSOLIDATED AND SIGNAL TUNNELS. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
Comment (Location): ON SOUTH SIDE OF CANYON
Comment (Development): FROM DON MEISSNER WHO ORIGINALLY STAKED THEM IN 1960, WITH A $2500 FINDERS FEE PAID TO JUE MORRIS OF MINA, NV. IN 1985, FURTHER CLAIMS WERE STAKED AND EXTENSIVE SAMPLING WAS DONE. MAPPING AND TRENCHING ARE TO BE FOLLOWED BY MORE RC DRILLING. SEVERAL DRILL HOLES ENCOUNTERED INTERVALS RUNNING 0.06 TO 0.26 OZ/ST AU.
Comment (Geology): THE FAIRVIEW MINE IS LOCATED ON HARD BASALT. BRIGHT YELLOW GOLD INTERLAMINATED WITH QUARTZ OR ENVELOPING FRAGMENTS OF COUNTRY ROCK CAN BE SEEN. THE VEINS IN THE AREA CONSIST OF SOFT CRUSHED MATERIAL THAT REPRESENT ZONES OF BRECCIATION OR SMALL FISSURES ALONG WHICH MOVEMENT HAS CONTINUED SINCE SPACES ORIGINALLY FORMED WERE FILLED WITH QUARTZ.
