IN 1984, WORTH, INC. OF SAN DIEGO HAD A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF EQUIPMENT AND SOME PEOPLE ON THE SITE, BUT MINING -WAS DELAYED PENDING DEVELOPMENT OF ADDITIONAL WATER RESOURCES.- PROPERTY IS LISTED AS AN ACTIVE GOLD MINING AND MILLING OPERA-TION FOR 1984, EMPLOYING 3 PERSONS.

Comment (Deposit): THE PLACERITES DISTRICT WAS FIRST WORKED IN THE EARLY 1870'S. IN 1890'S GRAVEL WAS HAULED TO RABBIT HOLE SPRINGS. MINING WAS PRINCIPALLY BY SMALL SCALE HAND METHODS. DEPOSITS NOT WORKED AGAIN UNTIL AFTER 1928. EQUIPMENT WAS INSTALLED IN 1929 TO WORK PLACERS ON A LARGE SCALE. DEPOSITS WORKED INTERMITTENTLY SINCE. NUMEROUS PITS, CUTS & TRENCHES CAN STILL BE SEEN IN THE AREA. A RECENT TRENCH IS 1000 FT. LONG, 25 FT. WIDE, & MOSTLY 6 TO 10 FT. DEEP, DEEPEST PART 25 FT.
