The Valery Mine is a gold and fluorine-fluorite mine located in Pershing county, Nevada.
About the MRDS Data:
All mine locations were obtained from the USGS Mineral Resources Data System. The locations and other information in this database have not been verified for accuracy. It should be assumed that all mines are on private property.

MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Geology): IN UPPER, MAIN BODY, DEPOSIT FLUORITE IS WHITE TO PALE GREEN AND FINE-GRAINED. IN THE LOWER DEPOSIT, ADDITIONAL FLUORSPAR OCCURS AS A REPLACEMENT BODY THAT CONFORMS TO THE BEDDING BUT IS NOT DETERMINED WHETHER THE BEDDED DEPOSIT WAS CONTROLLED BY THE FAULT. THE FLUORSPAR IN THE BEDDED DEPOSIT IS MORE SILICEOUS AND LESS CALCAREOUS THAN THE MATERIAL IN THE UPPER DEPOSIT.
Comment (Deposit): TWO FLUOROSPAR DEPOSITS OCCUR IN THE FOOTWALL ROCKS BELOW A THRUST FAULT. IN THE UPPER, MAIN BODY, THE FLUORITE IS WHITE TO PALE GREEN AND FINE-GRAINED IN THE LOWER DEPOSIT, ADDITIONAL FLUORSPAR OCCURS AS A REPLACEMENT BODY THAT CONFORMS TO THE BEDDING BUT IS NOT DETERMINED WHETHER THE BEDDED DEPOSIT WAS CONTROLLED BY THE FAULT. THE FLUORSPAR IN THE BEDDED DEPOSIT IS MORE SILICEOUS AND LESS CALCAREOUS THAN THE MATERIAL IN THE UPPER DEPOSIT. FLUORITE OCCURS IN ZONE OF STRONGLY BRECCIATED AND SHATTERED ROCK TRENDING N5-10W. NUMEROUS HIGH-ANGLE STRUCTURES- EXPOSED IN PIT, LIMESTONE IS SILICIFIED AND REPLACED BY LATE--STAGE FLUORITE IN COARSELY CRYSTALLINE MASSES, WHITE, GREEN AN-D PURPLE IN COLOR. FOOTWALL OF MAIN FLUORITE ZONE IN PIT SHOWS- NUMEROUS HIGH-ANGLE STRUCTURES. ALSO, QUARTZ STOCKWORK VEININ-G AND SILICIFICATION OCCUR IN FOOTWALL BELOW WEST-DIPPING FAUL-TS. SOME GOOD JASPEROID WITH BRECCIA TEXTURE ASSOCIATED WITH F-LUORITE.
Comment (Workings): OPEN PIT, NUMEROUS DRILL ROADS, DRILL HOLES
Comment (Deposit): DISCOVERED IN 1929. US BUREAU OF MINES EXPLORED AREA IN 1945 BY TRENCHES, UNDERGROUND WORKINGS, & A FEW SHORT DRILL HOLES. IN 1953 A LONG ADIT WITH SEVERAL CROSSCUTS WAS DRIVEN BY KAISER ALUMINUM & CHEMICAL CORP. SOME DRILLING DONE BY ARROWHEAD SILICA CORP IN 1972.
