VEIN QUARTZ HAS SPARSE SPOTTY SULFIDES AN-D IS OFTEN SLIGHTLY IRON-STAINED. LOCALLY PYRITE-RICH PIECES O-F VEIN MATTER ARE ALSO NOTED. THE WORKINGS ON THE TOPO MAP OCC-UR ALONG A N45E ZONE ABOUT 1.5 KM LONG WITH THE MONROE MINE AT- THE SOUTH END AND THE BLACK HOLE MINE AT THE NORTH.; MODEL NAME COULD ALSO BE: POLYMETALLIC VEINS.

Comment (Workings): 4 TUNNELS, DRIFTS. NUMEROUS ADITS, MANY WITH CAVED OR PARTLY CAVED PORTALS (1984). AN OLD MILL FOUNDATION (SMALL) WITH SMALL AMOUNT- OF TAILINGS. THERE IS A LARGER MILL FOUNDATION IN THE CANYON -BELOW THE MAIN MINES.

Comment (Geology): SULFIDES OCCUR IN PERSISTENT 2-8 FT. WIDE AND 4000 FT. LONG QUARTZ VEIN. HOST ROCK CUT BY DIABASE DIKES.
