MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Development): THE MINE HAS BEEN CONTINUOUSLY ACTIVE SINCE AT LEAST 1975 TO PRESENT, EMPLOYING FROM 3 TO 7 WORKERS. IT WAS REPORT-ED IN 1983 BY SUNATO DEVELOPMENT CORP THAT NEGOTIATIONS HAD BE-EN COMPLETED TO PURCHASE THE LITTLE JUPITER MINE WITH TWO TARG-ET AREAS: THE EASTERN (JEWEL BOX) AND WESTERN (ROWLAND) ZONES.- A PROGRAM OF DRILLING IS REVERSE CIRCULATION HOLES TO A DEPTH- OF 200 FT WAS RECOMMENDED TO SAMPLE BOTH TARGETS. CIRCLE A CO-NSTRUCTION (MARVIN ASLETT, PRESIDENT) WAS STILL LISTED AS OWNE-R AT THE TIME OF AN NBMG FIELD EXAMINATION IN 1984 AS IT HAD B-EEN SINCE 1980. THERE WAS A PERIOD FROM 1975 TO 1980 WHEN HAFI-N LEAVITT WAS LISTED AS LESSEE/OPERATOR OF THE MINE. IN 1984 T-HERE WERE NO PEOPLE ON THE SITE, BUT MINING EQUIPMENT WAS ON T-HE DUMP OF THE LOWER ADIT, AND ORE HAD RECENTLY BEEN MINED AND- HAULED ON THE ROAD TO GRASS VALLEY.
Comment (Deposit): MASSIVE WHITE QUARTZ VEINS CUT IRON-STAINED METARHYOLITE. QUARTZ VEIN MATTER IS MILKY MASSIVE AND CONTAINS SCATTER-ED 1-6 MM BLEBS OF GALENA AND SPHALERITE. RHYOLITIC WALLROCK A-SSOCIATED WITH THE ORE IS ARGILLICALLY ALTERED. THE STRUCTURE -PRESENTLY MINED IS ACCESSED FROM THE LOWER ADIT; NO UNDERGROUN-D EXAMINATION WAS MADE AND NO STRUCTURE IS PRESENT AT THE PORT-AL. AN ADIT HIGHER ON THE HILLSIDE EXPLORES A N50W, 30 SW SHEA-R ZONE IN METARHYOLITE. QUARTZ VEIN MATTER ON THE DUMP SUGGEST-S THAT THE SHEAR ZONE HAS A QUARTZ VEIN ALONG IT IN THE WORKIN-GS. THE EASTERN (JEWEL BOX) TARGET ZONE COMPRISES SEVERAL N-S--TRENDING QUARTZ-FLOODED SHEAR ZONES. SAMPLE RESULTS FROM THESE- ZONES RANGE FROM 0.01 TO 3.37 OZ/TON OF GOLD. THE HIGHGRADE T-ARGET STRUCTURE IN THE JEWEL BOX AREA ON THE 6060 LEVEL RETURN-ED VALUES OF 3.37 OZ/TON OVER 22 FT OF WIDTH AND A VALUE OF 0.-71 OZ/TON OVER 19 FT FURTHER ALONG STRIKE. THE AVERAGE VALUE O-F 7 SAMPLES OVER A 24-FT WIDTH ON AN EXPOSED STRIKE LENGTH OF -80
Comment (Deposit): FT WAS 1.078 OZ/TON GOLD. SELECTED SHIPMENTS FROM THIS ZONE- PRIOR TO 1900 WERE REPORTED TO AVERAGE 3-5 OZ/TON GOLD. A PAR-ALLEL STRUCTURE AVERAGES 0.091 OZ/TON OVER A 17 FT WIDTH. THE -JEWEL BOX ZONE CAN BE TRACED FOR OVER 450 FT OF STRIKE LENGTH,- AND, BASED ON QUARTZ-FLOODED ZONES EXPOSED IN SHALLOW PITS AN-D SHORT ADITS, HAS THE POTENTIAL FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER 600 FT. -THE WEST TARGET (ROWLAND ZONE) CONSISTS OF A NW-TRENDING QUART-Z STOCKWORK SYSTEM 30-50 FT WIDE. INDIVIDUAL VEINS IN THE SYST-EM HAVE ASSAYED AS HIGH AS 4.01 OZ/T GOLD AND 19.14 OZ/T AG OV-ER A 1-FT WIDTH. THE WEIGHTED AVERAGE VALUE OF SAMPLING IN THE- ROWLAND TARGET IS 0.115 OZ/T AU AND 5.76 OZ/T AG. A LARGE COM-POSITE SAMPLE FROM THE DUMP OF AN OPEN CUT IN THE WESTERN PART- OF THE ROWLAND ZONE RETURNED 0.104 OZ/T AU AND 3.68 OZ/T AG. -REPORTED SHIPMENTS IN 1933 AND 1934 TOTALLED 138 TONS AVERAGIN-G 2.96 OZ/T AU AND 7.26 OZ/T AG. SEVERAL OTHER LOWER GRADE GOL-D-BEARING STRUCTURES EXIST ON THE PROPERTY. OTHER THAN
