Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. Comments
Comment (Workings): THIS MINE WAS DEVELOPED TO A DEPTH OF MORE THAN 2,000 FEET AND TOTAL UNDERGROUND WORKINGS EXCEED 12 MILES IN LENGTH. THE WORKINGS EXPLORE THE NEVADA WONDER VEIN, WHICH LIES PARTLY ON THE CONTACT BETWEEN RHYOLITE AND INTRUSIVE DACITE, AND PARTLY WITHIN RHYOLITE. THE VEIN CONSISTS OF QUARTZ MUDELY BANDED WITH FELDSPAR AND IS LIMONITE-STAINED. THE SILVER GOLD ORE OCCURS CHIEFLY IN THE QUARTZ-ADULARIA GANGUE.
