Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Workings): ACCORDING TO BAILEY & PHOENIX, THIS PROPERTY WAS FIRST LOCATED IN THE 1870'S FOR LEAD & SILVER. THE AREA WAS EXPLORED FOR SILVER, LEAD, & TUNGSTEN IN 1942. AT THIS TIME, THE CINNABAR WAS DISCOVERED, OCCURING WITH JAROSITE IN A 3-FOOT WIDE, NORTHWEST-TRENDING, NEAR VERTICAL FRACTURE ZONE. SCHEELITE OCCURS IN TACTITE FORMED NEAR THE CONTACT OF A GRANITIC ROCK WITH LIMEY SHALE, SLATE, AND HORNFELS. DURING 1944, A 34-TON SHIPMENT OF 0.6% WO3 WAS MADE (MOORE, P 31) TO THE METALS RESERVE DEPOT IN SALT LAKE CITY (OVERTON, P 43)
