Comments
Comment (Workings): PLEISTOCENE LACUSTINE SEDIMENTS OF LAKE LAHONTAN ARE RADIOACTIVE IN AN AREA OF A FEW TENS OF SQUARE FEET. THE ROCKS ARE COBBLE CONGLOMERATES AND CROSS-BEDDED SANDSTONES WHICH ARE CEMENTED BY AND INTERBEDDED WITH CALCAROUS TUFA. THE CLASTIC DEBRIS IS MAINLY FROM OLDER VOLCANIC ROCKS. NO URANIUM MINERALS WERE NOTED, AND RADIOACTIVITY DOES NOT SEEM TO BE RESTRICTED TO PARTICULAR BEDS OR OTHER STRUCTURAL FEATURES (GARSIDE, P 107)
