Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Workings): FLOW ROCKS ARE HIGHLY ALTERED, AND HAVE UNDERGONE SURFACE BLEACHING. BLEACHING HAS RESULTED IN ALTERATION OF ANDESITE TO MIXTURE OF QUARTZ, ILLITE, AND IRON OXIDES. BODIES OF IRON-OXIDE STAINED QUARTZ OCCUR ALONG FRACTURE ZONES IN THE ANDESITE. THE QUARTZ LENSES DO NOT EXTEND MORE THAN 20-30 FEET BELOW SURFACE, AND ARE EVIDENTLY PRODUCTS OR REDISTRIBUTION OF SILICA DURING WEATHERING AND BLEACHING. THE ANDESITES BELOW THE ZONE OF WEATHERING ARE DARK GREYISH-GREEN PHOPYLICED ROCK SPECKLED WITH PYRITE. THE ANDESITE FLOWS HAVE BEEN INTRUDED BY DIKES OF GRANODIORITE PORPHYRY. ORE MINERALIZATION OCCURED IN STOCKWORKS IN NORTHWEST AND NORTH TRENDING FRACTURE ZONES (BONHAM P 92)
