Comments
Comment (Development): NO RECORD OF EARLY PRODUCTION EXCEPT THAT THEY HAD "EXCEEDINGLY RICH ORE" IN 1873. SHALLOW OREBODIES EXPLOITED IN THE 1870'S, ANDIN 1930'S WITH CLOSURE BY W.W. II TIME
Comment (Workings): SHAFT, STOPES, CONNECTING WORKINGS
Comment (Deposit): VEIN ALONG SILVER CITY LODE, WITH MUCH BRANCHING.
Comment (Deposit): IN THE 1870'S THE DAYTON SHAFT WAS SUNK TO ABOUT 900 FEET DEEP WITH CROSSCUTS TO THE 700 FT LEVEL. A CONSIDERABLE TONNAGE WAS MINED ON THE UPPER LEVELS AND THE ORE ANALGANATED. IN 1932 NEAR-SURFACE ORE WAS PROFITABLY MINED, MILLING IN CUSTOM MILLS. MANY OF THE OLD STOPE FACES HAS COMMERCIAL ORE AND LARGE NEW STOPES WERE OPENED CLOSE TO OLD WORKINGS ON THE VEIN. THE DAYTON CLAIMS EXPANDED UNTIL THE PROPERTY WAS CLOSED DOWN BY WWII. THE COMPANY TANK OVER AND MINED THE KOSSUTH, KEYSTONE, JUSTICE, WOODVILLE, LADY WASHINGTON, ALTO, OEST AND SPRING VALLEY CLAIMS.
