Comment (Geology): OREBODY IS WEAR JUNCTION OF TWO VEINS. THE ORE WAS REPORTED TO BE FREE GOLD AND ELECTRUM AND WAS CONCENTRATED IN TABULAR LENSES NEAR THE JUNCTION OF TWO VEINS ALONG THE MAJOR STRUCTURE.
Comment (Deposit): THIS MINE WAS PART OF THE DAYTON MINE PROPERTY AND WAS LOCATED ON THE FOOTWALL OF THE SILVER CITY BRANCH OF THE COMSTOCK LODE. THE DAYTON MINE PURCHASED IT IN 1943. THE OEST MINING COMPANY SANK A 300 FT SHAFT AND RECORDED A PRODUCTION FROM 1887-1892 OF $564,364 FROM 6,588 TONS, OR $85/TON.
