Comments
Comment (Reserve-Resource): FIGURES ARE FOR COMBINED MONTGOMERY-SHOSHONE AND BULLFROG PITS-ABOUT A MILE APART.
Comment (Deposit): DURING UNDERGROUND MINING, MOST OF THE ORE PROBABLY CAME FROM ABOVE THE 300 FT LEVEL. THE BEST ORE FROM "GLORY HOLE" AREA, SOME OF WHICH REPORTED TO ASSAY $700/TON.
Comment (Location): NORTH SLOPE OF MONTGOMERY MOUNTAIN. . INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1972)
Comment (Commodity): THE RATIO AG:AU IS MUCH HIGHER THAN CHARACTERISTIC FOR BULLFROG DISTRICT ORES
Comment (Development): ACQUIRED BY ST. JOE IN 1982 AND EXPLORATION DRILLING BEGAN IN SEPTEMBER 1983. BY 1985 A MINERAL INVENTORY HAD BEEN DEVELOPED, METALLURGICAL TESTING WAS COMPLETED, AND AN OPEN PIT MINE WAS DESIGNED. ST. JOE PLANNED (2/88) TO BEGIN CONSTRUCTION IN JUNE, 1988, WITH PRODUCTION TO BEGIN IN MAY, 1989. IN APRIL 1988, 8 DRILL RIGS WERE ACTIVE ON THE PROPERTY IN PRE-PRODUCTION. EXPLORATION IN THE VICINITY BASED ON THE MONTGOMERY-SHOSHONE MODEL LED TO THE DISCOVERY OF WHAT BECAME KNOWN AS THE BOND GOLD BULLFROG DEPOSIT (RECORD #RE00023). ; ECON.COM: OPEN PIT MINE DEVELOPED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE BOND GOLD BULLFROG MINE.
Comment (Workings): HISTORIC WORKINGS CONSIST OF 600 FT. DEEP SHOSHONE SHAFT AND 300 FT. DEEP POLARIS SHAFT WITH 9000 FT. OF WORKINGS. DEVELOPED AS AN OPEN PIT BY BOND GOLD.
