Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Deposit): CRUSHED & ALTERED ROCK IN FAULT ZONE
Comment (Development): 1870-1899= YEARS OF PRODUCTION.
Comment (Geology): ORE BODIES OCCUR AS QUARTZ STRINGERS AND LENSES IN ZONES OF INTENSE CRUSHING AND ALTERATION THAT CUTS THE QUARTZ MONZONITE. FOR ABOUT 200 FT. SOUTH OF THE MAIN FAULT THE QUARTZ MONZONITE IS CRUSHED AND ALTERED TO A DARK GRAY ROCK. SULFIDES CONSTITUTE THE ORE AND IS 95% PYRITE WITH A LITTLE CHALCOPYRITE. ORE IS RICHEST IN OXIDIZED ZONE NEAR SURFACE.
Comment (Deposit): DISCOVERED IN 1866. PRODUCED 7,623 TONS OF ORE BETWEEN 1870 TO 1899 WITH A GROSS VALUE OF $220,368. DEVELOPED BY A SERIES OF TUNNELS THAT JOIN AND CROSS EACH OTHER IN AN INTRICATE MANNER; ABOUT 3 MILES TOTAL WORKINGS. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
Comment (Workings): INTRICATE TUNNEL SYSTEM
