Comments
Comment (Location): LOCATED ON NORTH SIDE OF NORTH FORK CANYON. (NOTE: WHEN TINGLEY (NBMG) DID FIELD EXAMINATION, HE PLACED MINE IN SEC 3, T035N, R034E WITH UNKNOWN PRECISION ON LOVELOCK 250K QUAD, WHICH IS IN PERSHING COUNTY. NEWER WOODY CREEK CANYON TOPO MAP PLACES SITE IN HUMBOLDT COUNTY, AND UNPUBLISHED TINGLEY FILE ON SITE IS UNDER HUMBOLDT COUNTY, WHICH IS WHERE THE SITE IS.) ; . INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1972)
Comment (Development): GOLD MINING HISTORY UNKNOWN. DURING LATE 1940S AND EARLY 1950'S, OPERATED AS A DUDE GOLD MINE WITH SOME PRODUCTION OF MINERAL WATER. OLD BUILDINGS DATE FROM THE 1940'S WHEN COPPIN OPERATED THE COPPIN DUDE GOLD MINES; THE CAMP WAS CALLED "CAMP SHANGRA-LA" AND DUDES WERE GIVEN A "MOUNTAIN GOLD MINE EXPERIENCE." WATER DRAINING FROM THE MINE WAS BOTTLED AND SOLD AS COPPIN MINERAL WATER. IN THE EARLY 1970'S, WATER FROM THE MINE WAS MARKETED AS "AQUARIUS MINERAL WATER; THIS VENTURE DID NOT LAST MORE THAN A FEW MONTHS. CAMP IS DESERTED (1984).
Comment (Deposit): OLD WORKINGS ON CREST OF RIDGE FOLLOW DIKE-HORNFELS CONTACT WHICH CANNOT ALWAYS BE SEEN. NOT MUCH QUARTZ SEEN. NO MINERAL SEEN ON DUMP EXCEPT SPARSE VEIN QUARTZ.; MODEL NAME COULD ALSO BE: POLYMETALLIC VEINS.
Comment (Workings): 750-FOOT CAVED ADIT, 85-FOOT WINZE, 5 LEVELS OF CROSSCUTS AND DRIFTS. DRIFTS ALONG PARALLEL VEINS, 2 INCLINED SHAFTS WERE SUNK EASTWARD ALONG SHEAR ZONE OUTCROP; REMAINS OF CAMP BUILDING.
Comment (Geology): FIVE PARALLEL QUARTZ VEINS. SHEAR ZONE CUTS SILICIFIED ROCKS.
Comment (Deposit): THIS RECORD HAS BEEN MERGED WITH M242544, WHICH HAS BEEN DELETED.
