Comment (Geology): THE QUARTZ VEINS RANGE IN THICKNESS FROM A FEW INCHES TO 6 FEET AND GENERALLY STRIKE NORTHEAST AND DIP STEEPLY SOUTHESST. THE VEINS CUT META-ANDESITE. THE OXIDE ZONE EXTENDS TO A DEPTH OF 250 FT.
Comment (Deposit): THIS MINE IS PART OF THE GOLD PARK GROUP OF CLAIMS, WHICH THE NEVADA MINING CO. ACQUIRED IN 1893. A STAMP MILL WAS BUILT. THE ARCTIC MINE IS DEVELOPED BY AN INCLINED SHAFT, TWO ADITS, AND NUMEROUS SMALL STOPES ALONG A QUARTZ VEIN. THERE ARE 200 FT OF DRIFTS AT THE 200-FT LEVEL. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
