Comments
Comment (Location): A GROUP OF FIVE UNPATENTED CLAIMS ABOUT A MILE NORTH-NORTHEAST OF DREW MINE. ; INFO FROM LAND.ST : 1972; 1:24000 QUADRANGLE MAP IS A 1980 EDITION
Comment (Development): AT THE END OF 1942, THE LESSEE WAS INSTALLING A TWO-PIPE RETORT AND EXPECTED TO STAR RETORTING ORE FROM THE DUMPS. PRODUCTION IS UNKNOWN.
Comment (Deposit): CINNABAR OCCURS AS SCATTERED CRYSTALS AND FRAGMENTS IN OPEN CUTS DIRECTLY ABOVE THE UNDERGROUND WORKINGS, IN CRACKS AND VEINLETS ASSOCIATD WITH CALCITE, AND DISSEMINATED IN LIMESTONE. THE ORE BODIES MINED WERE SMALL AND HIGH-GRADE; THEY OCCURRED IN AND NEAR STEEP NORMAL FAULTS AND AT FAULT INTERSECTIONS.
Comment (Workings): DEVELOPMENT CONSISTS OF 350 FEET OF DRIFTS AND ADITS IN THREE LEVELS, PLUS SEVERAL SMALL PITS.
Comment (Geology): COUNTRY ROCK IS THE COARSELY CRYSTALLINE LOWER LIMESTONE MEMBER OF THE LUNING FORMATION; THIS IS THE ONLY MINE IN THE UPPER PLACE OF THE CINNABAR CANYON THRUST FAULT.
