Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Deposit): SMALL STAMP MILL OPERATING AT MOUNTAIN VIEW IN 1908.THE OLD MILL APPEARS TO HAVE TREATED SOME OF THE ORE FROM THIS AS WELL AS THE BIG TWENTY MINE. THE GOOD MINES LOCATED TO THE EAST ARE NOW WITHIN THE INDIAN RESERVATION. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
Comment (Workings): 3 SHORT DRIFTS AND A SHAFT
Comment (Geology): GOLD OCCURS IN SMALL IRREGULAR POCKETS THE MINERALIZATION WAS REPORTED TO BE MAINLY ON THE SOUTHSIDE OF THE DIKE. THE VEIN FILLING IS SOFT LIGHT PUMICE-LIKE QUARTZ CONTAINING LITTLE SULPHUR LIKELY FROM OXIDIZED PYRITE. THE DUMPS ARE COVERED WITH BOTH PYRITE AND SULPHUR.
Comment (Development): ECON.COM: PRODUCTION $4500 REPORTED IN 1909,MAY BE THE PRODUCTION OF THE BIG TWENTY MINE.
Comment (Deposit): A SINGLE ALMOST VERTICAL VEIN, 1-2 FEET THICK, FOLLOWS A NARROW DECOMPOSED DIORITE DIKE. PART OF THE SAME VEIN SYSTEM AS THE BIT TWENTY MINE. THE MINERALIZATION IS MAINLY ON SOUTH SIDE OF DIKE, AND MUCH OF THE VEIN FILLING IS A SOFT, LIGHT PUMICE-LIKE QUARTZ CONTAINING A LITTLE NATIVE SULFUR. THIS MATERIAL PROBABLY RESULTED FROM THE OXIDATION OF A PYRITIC VEIN.
Comment (Location): N END OF WASSUK RANGE, WEST OF SUMMIT
Comment (Production): $4,500 (1909) MAY ALSO INCLUDE BIG TWENTY MINE
