MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Deposit): Discovery Year: 1930'S
Comment (Deposit): THE GOLD MINERALIZATION APPEARS TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH LIMONITE STAINING IN THE BRECCIA ZONE.
Comment (Development): PREVIOUS OPERATORS INCLUDED: WILLIAM THOMPSON, C.O. HEWINS. THE VAN DEEMEN MINE EXPLORATION DRILLING TOTALED 13 REVERSE CIRCULATION HOLES FOR A TOTAL OF 5000 FT. AMSELCO EXPLORATION USED GEOLOGIC MAPPING AND INTERPRETATION TO DETERMINE THAT THE MINERALIZED ZONE WAS A LOW-ANGLE BRECCIA. VAN DEEMEN HAS BEEN SUBLEASED TO FRISCO MINING FOR AN AIRTRACK DRILLING PROGRAM AND ARIZONA STAR RESOURCE HAS CONDUCTED SURFACE DRILLING OVER 4 DETACHMENT BRECCIA TARGETS (FALL, 1986) WITH FURTHER DRILLING TO BE DONE IN 1987. IN 1987, ARIZONA STAR RESOURCE CO. STARTED DEVELOPING THE EXTENSIVE HEAP-LEACH GOLD RESERVES.
Comment (Workings): UNDERGROUND OPERATION IN 1941. LATER DEVELOPMENT FOR HEAP LEACH.
Comment (Geology): PRECAMBRIAN GNEISS AND SCHIST ARE OVERLAIN BY MIDDLE TERTIARY VOLCANICS AND SEDIMENTS. THE TWO FORMATIONS WERE BROUGHT INTO CONTACT BY A REGIONAL, LOW-ANGLE DETACHMENT FUALT WITH THE ATTENDENT BRECCIA ZONE.
Comment (Reserve-Resource): ADDITIONAL RESERVES OF 10-15 MILLION ST OF SIMILAR GRADE RESERVES ARE POSSIBLE.
Comment (Location): LAND HAS NOT BEEN SURVEYED IN SECTION WHERE MINE IS LOCATED.; LATITUDE-LONGITUDE VALUES CALCULATED FROM TOWNSHIP, RANGE, SECTION.
