Comment (Location): INFO FROM LAND.ST :1972
Comment (Deposit): SILICEOUS REPLACEMENT BEDDING DEPOSITS UP TO 5 FT THICK FOLLOWING BEDDING PLANE FAULTS. NEAR THE FAULTS, THE LIMESTONE HAS BEEN SILICIFIEAND EROSION EXPOSED SMALL JASPEROID RIBS. THE REPLACEMENT BODIES ARE OXIDIZED TO GOSSAN AND FILLS CAVITIES AND FRACTURES. CUTTING THE GOSSAN ARE BRECCIATED, WHITE, MASSIVE QUARTZ VEINS WITH CALCITE CRYSTALS AND GRAINS CARRYING OXIDIZED SULFIDES (PYRITE AND CHALCOPYRITE, POSSIBLY GALENA AND TETRAHEDRITE?) EXPOSED BEDDING EXHIBITS MUCH FAULTING RESULTING IN THE VARIABLE ATTITUDES OF THE CARBONATE BEDS WITH STRIKES VARYING FROM DUE WEST TO N20W AND DIPS RANGING FROM HORIZONTAL TO 30N. A SET OF VERTICAL, N65E SHEARS WAS EXPOSED IN THE MIDDLE WORKINGS.
Comment (Workings): 4-5 VERTICAL AND INCLINED SHAFTS, PARTIALLY CAVED, ALONG WESTERLY TREND; PERIPHERAL SURFACE CUTS, TRENCHES.
Comment (Development): PROBABLY WORKED/EXPLORED 1860'S-1880'S. ORIGINAL HAND-HEWN TIMBERS IN SHAFT COLLARS. NO ACTIVITY AT TIME OF EXAMINATION IN 1983.
