Comment (Development): VELVET CLAIM WAS SENDING SMALL SHIPMENTS OF GOLD ORE BY LATE 1904. THE VELVET WAS ACQUIRED BY THE JUMBO EXT. MINE CO. IN 1914 FROM THE ADJOINING GOLDFIELD MERGER MINES CO. MERGER HAD DONE EXPLORATORY WORK TO 1772 FT, THE DEEPEST IN THE DISTRICT (IN 1911). JUMBO EXT. THEN FOUND RICH ORE ON THE VELVET IN 1914-15. IT WAS INVOLVED IN LITIGATION IN 1915.
