Comment (Production): SPURR REPORTED $200,000 WORTH OF SILVER PRODUCED FROM THE COMBINED POCATELLO AND VANDERBILT MINES TO 1906.
Comment (Development): ONE OF THE FIRST CLAIMS TO BE STAKED IN THE DISTRICT. AN 1878 REPORT STATED THAT SEVERAL HUNDRED TONS OF $80. ORE HAD BEEN DEVELOPED ON THE POCOTILLO CLAIM. PATENTED IN 1879 WHEN OWNED BY THE SILVER PEAK AND RED MOUNTAIN GOLD AND SILVER MINING CO.
Comment (Deposit): BLACK METALLIC SILVER MINERAL OCCURS IN CRACKS IN QUARTZ LENSES CONFORMABLE TO BEDDING. ORE MAY BE SOMEWHAT ENRICHED CLOSE TO GREENSTONE DIKES.
