Comments
Comment (Development): 6 CLAIMS, DEVELOPED BY SWEENEY AND MCMILLAN AND VARIOUS LESSEES, BUT NOT ENOUGH ORE WAS FOUND TO JUSTIFY ERECTION OF REDUCTION EQUIPMENT.
Comment (Deposit): TUFFS AND LAKE BEDS ARE SILICIFIED ALONG HANGING WALL OF FAULT (CAMBRIAN EL DORADO LIMESTONE FAULTED AGAINST MIOCENE VOLCANOGENIC SEDIMENTARY ROCKS) TO FORM AN OPALITE RIB IN WHICH CINNABAR IS DISSEMINATED. CINNABAR ALSO OCCURS IN THE UNSILICIFIED TUFF BEDS BUT IS MOST CONCENTRATED IN THE OPALITE NEAR THE FAULTED CONTACT WITH THE LIMESTONE. CINNABAR IS FOUND IN BRECCIA PIPES AND IN AN IRREGULAR SILICIFIED RUBBLE ZONE.
Comment (Workings): 180-FT. ADIT WITH 175 FT. OF CONNECTING DRIFTS AND CROSSCUTS; A FEW SCATTERED CUTS AND A SHAFT; SMALL OPEN PIT
Comment (Location): ON WEST SIDE OF MONTEZUMA PEAK ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1972)
