Comments
Comment (Location): ABOUT ONE MILE N 30 E FROM B & B MINE ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :1972
Comment (Production): SMALL UNRECORDED PRODUCTION OF SEVERAL FLASKS MERCURY IN 1936 AND A FEW FLASKS IN 1941. USBM UNPUB DATA
Comment (Development): LESSEE WAS DEVELOPING THE MINE IN 1942 AND 1943. PREVIOUSLY, HANDSORTED ORE WAS TREATED IN A 2-PIPE RETORT YIELDING A TOTAL OF LESS THAN 10 FLASKS MERCURY IN 1936 AND 1941. U.S. STEEL ACTIVE IN 1982 DOING GEOLOGIC MAPPING; USBM GEOLOGIST ON PROPERTY IN 1982 DOING SURVEY FOR WILDERNESS PROGRAM.
Comment (Deposit): TWO SMALL OPALITE BODIES, ONE 60 X 20 FT. AND THE OTHER 80 X 100 FFT. CINNABAR IS DISSEMINATED IN THE MOST OPALIZED ROCK WITH LITTLE CONTINIUTY. ENTIRE TOP OF HILL APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN A HOT SPRINGS CONDUIT, APPARENTLY CONTROLLED BY A N30E SHAR ZONE NOW OCCUPIED BY SOFT LEACHED ROCK WITH FLUFFY SILICA IN OPEN SPACES. SOME HG MINERALS (HGCL AND CINNNABAR) ON FRACTURE COATINGS, AND CLEAR SILICA COATS THE HG MINERALS. AREAS OF SOFT FLUFFY SILICA AS PIPES AROUND OPALITE BLOCKS.
Comment (Workings): SEVERAL SHAFTS, ADITS, A SMALL OPEN CUT AND MANY SHALLOW PITS. ONE PIT OCCUPIES TOP OF ROUNDED HILL
