Comments
Comment (Deposit): ON THE IRON FISSURE. ORE IS SOFT IRON-STAINED LEAD CARBONATE WITH LOWER-GRADE ORE CONTAINING MUCH UNREPLACED LIMESTONE. A CONSIDERABLE QUANTITY OF HIGH GRADE SORTED ORE ON DUMP CONSISTED OF HARD MASSIVE CERUSSITE. IN THIS ORE, ROUNDED RESIDUAL KERNELS OF GALENA ARE SURROUNDED BY LAYERS OF ANGLESITE AND CERUSSITE. A MINOR AMOUNT OF COPPER CARBONATE IS PRESENT IN SOME ORE, AND THIN FILMS OF SILCIA HAVE BEEN DEPOSITED IN OPENINGS ANG CREVICES OF THE ORE. ORE WAS IN HANGING AND FOOT WALLS OF THE FISSURE.
Comment (Workings): WORKING CONSIST OF 3 SHAFTS AND 2 SHALLOW CUTS 200 YD S OF THE SHAFT, WITH SMALL STOPES AT ONE END. 4 LEVELS ABOUT 90 FT APART IN SHAFT, ORE STOPED TO SURFACE. LONGEST DRIFTS TOTAL 165 FT ON 200 LEVEL
Comment (Geology): HANGING WALL OF FISSURE IS IN LIMESTONE AND FOOTWALL IS IN MARBLE
Comment (Location): AREA UNSURVEYED. ABOUT 2700 FT NW OF THE GYPSY SHAFT
Comment (Production): SHIPMENTS WERE BEING MADE ABOUT ONCE A MONTH IN 1924.
