Comments

Comment (Location): IN SAND CANYON; UNSURVEYED AREA ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1972)

Comment (Development): DRILL RIG SET UP AND WORKING IN MIDDLE OF ROAD ON RED ARROW CLAIMS. - PROBABLY GOLD EXPLORATION - WITH MINOR PAST HG PRODUCTION FROM SMALL RETORT. CLAIMS (51) STAKED BY THOMAS A. CALHOUN, OF ASARCO, OCT. 1983.

Comment (Deposit): ANDESITE MAY BE A DIKE, (?) AND MOST OF WORK AND PRODUCTION HERE CAME FROM RHYOLITE. CURRENT DRILLING APPEARS TO BE IN THE ANDESITE WHICH APPEARS TO BE VERTICAL IN ITS SETTING. AT NORTHERN MOST WORKING, SHAFT IS SUNK ALONG CONTACT OF ANDESITE/RHYOLITE, AND INDICATIONS ARE THAT PRODUCTION, HERE, IF ANY, CAME FROM THE ANDESITE.

Comment (Workings): OPEN STOPE CONNECTS TO DRIFTS BELOW ON SOUTHERLY KNOB. TRENCH WITH OPEN ADIT/SHAFT ON NORTHERLY KNOB. MINOR OTHER DOZER CUTS BETWEEN TWO KNOBS. 2-PIPE RETORT BELOW SHAFT ON EAST SIDE OF KNOB. NORTHERLY KNOB HAS 3 DOZER TRENCHES CUT ON EAST SIDE, APPROXIMATELY 100-150 FT LONG BY 15 FT WIDE. THE MOST NORTHERLY OF THESE HAS AN ADIT RUNNING ON INTO HILL AND SHAFT AT SW CORNER. ALSO, A SMALL 1 PIPE RETORT IS LOCATED HERE.
