MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Gangue: Limonite
Comments
Comment (Development): PROBABLY OLD MINES; A LARGE JUNIPER IS ON ONE DUMP. MODERATE-SIZED DUMPS INDICATE SOME PAST PRODUCTION
Comment (Deposit): QUARTZ VEIN MATTER AND LIMONITE GOSSAN OCCUR ALONG FAULTS CUTTING LIMESTONE. MINERALIZED FAULTS HAVE SEVERAL TRENDS. N-S, 70 W VEINS ARE PRESENT IN ONE PIT, WHILE SHALLOW WORKINGS ON ANOTHER ZONE ARE ALONG AN E-W, 305 VEIN (6-8 CM OF QUARTZ). A SHALLOW SHAFT AND ADIT IN A CANYON 300 M NW OF MAIN WORKINGS EXPLORE A N30W, 65 SW ZONE OF GOSSAN AND FINE-GRAINED SILICA, 10-30 CM WIDE. THE QUARTZ VEIN MATTER IS MILKY AND MASSIVE. POSSIBLE SB OXIDES NOTED IN SPARSE QUARTZ VEIN MATTER ON THE DUMPS. NO SILICIFICATION OR JASPEROID DEVELOPMENT IN LIMESTONE ADJACENT TO VEINS. SMALL BLEBS OF SULFIDE OR SULFOSALT MINERALS IN QUARTZ VEIN MATERIAL (TETRAHEDRITE?; JAMESONITE?).
