The NBMG Sample Site 2350 is a silver mine located in Pershing county, Nevada at an elevation of 4,774 feet.
About the MRDS Data:
All mine locations were obtained from the USGS Mineral Resources Data System. The locations and other information in this database have not been verified for accuracy. It should be assumed that all mines are on private property.
Elevation: 4,774 Feet (1,455 Meters)
Lat, Long: 40.75278, -117.83167

MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Analytical Data: SAMPLE 2350, SELECT QUARTZ VEIN MATERIAL FROM NEXT-TO-LOWEST DUMP CONTAINS 1% FE, 0.7% MG, 2% CA, 0.05% TI, 200 PPM MN, 200 PPM AG, 500 PPM AS, 0.5 PPM AU (BY AA ANALYSIS), 30 PPM B, 20 PPM BA, 50 PPM CD, 20 PPM CR, 100 PPM CU, 10 PPM NI, 5000 PPM PB, 5000 PPM SB, 50 PPM V, 300 PPM ZN.
Comment (Development): PROBABLY OLD MINES; A LARGE JUNIPER IS ON ONE DUMP. MODERATE-SIZED DUMPS INDICATE SOME PAST PRODUCTION
Comment (Deposit): QUARTZ VEIN MATTER AND LIMONITE GOSSAN OCCUR ALONG FAULTS CUTTING LIMESTONE. MINERALIZED FAULTS HAVE SEVERAL TRENDS. N-S, 70 W VEINS ARE PRESENT IN ONE PIT, WHILE SHALLOW WORKINGS ON ANOTHER ZONE ARE ALONG AN E-W, 305 VEIN (6-8 CM OF QUARTZ). A SHALLOW SHAFT AND ADIT IN A CANYON 300 M NW OF MAIN WORKINGS EXPLORE A N30W, 65 SW ZONE OF GOSSAN AND FINE-GRAINED SILICA, 10-30 CM WIDE. THE QUARTZ VEIN MATTER IS MILKY AND MASSIVE. POSSIBLE SB OXIDES NOTED IN SPARSE QUARTZ VEIN MATTER ON THE DUMPS. NO SILICIFICATION OR JASPEROID DEVELOPMENT IN LIMESTONE ADJACENT TO VEINS. SMALL BLEBS OF SULFIDE OR SULFOSALT MINERALS IN QUARTZ VEIN MATERIAL (TETRAHEDRITE?; JAMESONITE?).
