Comments
Comment (Deposit): CLAIM AREA IS UNDERLAIN BY METAMORPHIC ROCKS ENCLOSED BY QUARTZ MONZONITE. SCHEELITE-BEARING TACTITE OCCURS ALONG AND NEAR CONTACTS OF BIOTITE-FELDSPAR QUARTZ SCHIST WITH THE GRANITIC ROCK. EXPOSURES ARE POOR, BUT SCHEELITE APPEARS TO BE PRESENT IN ALL THE TACTITE, WHICH IS COMPOSED MAINLY OF PYROXENE, GARNET, AMPHIBOLE EPIDOTE, AND QUARTZ. MUCH OF THE SCHEELITE FLUORESCES CANARY YELLOW, INDICATIVE OF HIGH MOLYBDENUM CONTENT. TACTITE BODIES APPEAR TO BE SMALL AND TUNGSTEN CONTENT IS GENERALLY LOW, RANGING FROM 0.01 % TO 2 %, BUT AVERAGING ONLY ABOUT 0.25 % WO3.
Comment (Workings): 50 FT LONG OPEN CUT, 15 FT WIDE AND 15 FT DEEP, 60 FT LONG TRENCH, 20 FT TRENCH, OTHER SHALLOW SMALL TRENCHES.
Comment (Deposit): THIS RECORD HAS BEEN MERGED WITH D011055, WHICH HAS BEEN DELETED.
Comment (Location): ON A NORTH FORK OF BARTLETT CREEK ABOUT 1 MILE SW OF TOP OF BARTLETT PEAK.
Comment (Development): PROPERTY WAS EXPLORED IN 1953 AND 1954. A SINGLE TRUCKLOAD OF ORE WAS SHIPPED TO THE GETCHELL MILL IN 1953 CONTAINING 6 TONS OF 0.71 % WO3 ORE.
