Comments
Comment (Deposit): TACTITE OCCURS IN LIMESTONE ALONG A CONTACT WITH GRANITIC ROCKS. SCHEELITE IS SPARSE AND THE TACTITE IS POORLY DEVELOPED. SCATTERED QUARTZ VEINS CONTAINING SMALL AMOUNTS OF SCHEELITE ARE ALSO PRESENT. THE HIGHLY IRREGULAR E-W TRENDING CONTACT ZONE OF METASEDIMENTS AND GRANITIC INTRUSIVE CONTAINS EPIDOTE, GARNET, CALCITE AND SOME PYRITE. SAMPLE 3856 IS FROM THIS SKARN ZONE AND SAMPLE 3857 IS OF QUARTZ-VEINED MATERIAL ALONG THE MARGIN OF THE CONTACT ZONE IN THE OPEN PIT AREA.
Comment (Workings): 2 SHAFTS; OLD DRILL AND DOZER ROADS WEST OF PAVED ROAD. OLDER WORKINGS ARE CUT AND OBLITERATED BY DOZER CUTS WITHIN THE LAST 5 YEARS (1986); BENCHES, TRENCHES, OPEN PIT
Comment (Development): THERE ARE 2 SHAFTS ON THE PROPERTY, AND SOME ORE WAS PROBABLY MINED FROM EACH OF THEM DURING THE PERIOD FROM 1951 TO 1956
Comment (Commodity): SOME OF THE SCHEELITE FLUORESCES PALE YELLOW.
Comment (Location): UTM FOR SAMPLE SITE 3856 IS N 4346580, E 386400; UTM FOR SAMPLE SITE 3857 IS N 4346586, E 386320 ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1972)
