The NBMG Sample Site 3891 is a silver and gold mine located in Churchill county, Nevada at an elevation of 5,000 feet.
About the MRDS Data:
All mine locations were obtained from the USGS Mineral Resources Data System. The locations and other information in this database have not been verified for accuracy. It should be assumed that all mines are on private property.

MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Deposit): Discovery Year: EARLY 1900'S
Comment (Deposit): CROSSCUT ADIT WAS DRIVEN 300 FT IN TO AND BENEATH THE MAJOR NW-TRENDING GOLD KING GROUP VEIN DESCRIBED BY SCHRADER (1947). THE S 25 W HEADING WOULD HAVE CROSSED THE FAULT AND SHOULD HAVE INSERSECTED SOME OF THE VEIN SYSTEMS SEEN IN THE UPPER WORKINGS IF THEY CONTINUED TO DEPTH, WHICH THEY APPARENTLY DO NOT. AT ABOUT 160 FT, THE FAULT ZONE WAS ENCOUNTERED, BUT CONTAINED ONLY MINOR QUARTZ STRINGERS. A 55-FT LONG DRIFT WAS DRIVEN ALONG THE HANGING WALL SIDE OF THE SHEAR ON A N 80 W BEARING, BUT IT CUT NO VEIN STRUCTURE; ANOTHER MINOR DRIFT FROM THE FACE OF THE ADIT FOLLOWED A SMALL UNPRODUCTIVE VEIN. SAMPLE 3891 WAS SELECTED FROM THE SMALL AMOUNT OF QUARTZ VEIN MATERIAL FOUND ON THE DUMP, REPRESENTING MINOR STRINGERS. NO ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO DEVELOP ORE OR TO MINE ANY OF THE SHOWINGS. THE VEINS SEEN IN THE UPPER WORKINGS APPEAR TO HAVE PINCHED OUT AT DEPTH, AND THE MAJOR SHEAR ZONE EXPOSED BY THE ADIT AT THIS LOCATION WAS WITHOUT MINERALIZATION OF ANY SIZE.
Comment (Workings): A SINGLE 300-FT CROSSCUT ADIT WITH A 65-FT DRIFT
Comment (Location): NW OF GEIGER GAP-NO ROAD ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1972)
Comment (Development): THESE WORKINGS DO NOT APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN MINED BUT WERE PROSPECTED IN EARLY 1900'S. STAKED IN 1979 BY ERICKSON'S GROUP. NO ACTIVITY IN 1986.
