Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comment (Location): WOUTH OF CALIENTE CREEK, ON A RIDGE BETWEEN INDIAN AND STUDHORSE CREEKS. ADJOINS GOLD PEAK CLAIM ON THE NORTH.
Comment (Production): DEVELOEPD AND OPERATED DURING EARLY PART OF TWENTIETH CENTURY. AT WHICH TIME 70 CARS AVERAGING $125/TON WERE SHPPED. NO SPECIFIC PRODUCTION RECORD FOUND.
Comment (Deposit): VEIN, 12 FT IN THICKNESS. VEIN FILLING CONSISTS OF QUARTZ AND ALTERED WALLROCK. ORE SHOOT WAS 230 FT LONG.
Comment (Deposit): 4 CLAIMS.
Comment (Workings): THE MINE IS DEVELOPED BY SIX TUNNELS. THE LOWER TUNNEL, NO. 6, AT AN ELEVATION OF 3,120 FEET, WAS DRIVEN 206 FEET EAST. AN 80 FOOT RAISE ON THE VEIN COMES WITHIN 20 FEET OF CONNECTING WITH A WINZE FROM TUNNEL NO. 5, WHICH WAS DRIVEN 600 FEET EAST. TUNNEL NO. 4, AT AN ELEVATION OF 3,350 FEET, WAS DRIVEN 500 FEET EAST; NO. 3, AT AN ELEVATION OF 3,550 FEET, WAS DRIVEN 200 FEET EAST; AND NO. 1, AT AN ELEVATION OF ABOUT 3,620 FEET, WAS DRIVEN EASTWARD ABOUT 50 FT. THREE ORE SHOOTS, AGGREGATING APPROXIMATELY 300 FEET IN LENGTH, WERE DEVELOPED IN THESE WORKINGS. THEY WERE STOPED FROM 18 INCHES TO 6 1/2 FEET IN WIDTH. THIS MATERIAL ALL CAME FROM THE HANGINGWALL SIDE OF THE VEIN, AND IN MANY INSTANCES SEVERAL FEET OF VEIN ADJACENT TO THE FOOTWALL SIDE REMAINS.
