The Blue Chalk is a beryllium mine located in Juab county, Utah.
About the MRDS Data:
All mine locations were obtained from the USGS Mineral Resources Data System. The locations and other information in this database have not been verified for accuracy. It should be assumed that all mines are on private property.
Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Deposit): ORE DEPOSIT CROPS OUT AT SURFACE AND DIPS ABOUT 18 DEGREES SOUTHWEST BENEATH RHYOLITE CAP ROCK; AT 200 FT. DOWN DIP FROM OUTCROP TOP OF ORE IS ABOUT 50 FT. BELOW SURFACE. ORE DEPOSIT RANGES FROM 14-24 FEET THICK.
Comment (Workings): DIMENSIONS ESTIMATED VISUALLY WHEN VISITED BY LINDSEY IN 1986.
Comment (Geology): THE BERYLLIUM TUFF MEMBER HOSTS ALL ORE ZONES; THE PORPHYRITIC RHYOLITE SERVED AS AN IMPERMEABLE BARRIER FOR MINERALIZING FLUIDS AND IS NOT MUCH MINERALIZED.
