Comment (Development): DEPOSIT WAS HELD BY ANACONDA IN 1977 WHO SOLD IT TO BRUSH-WELLMAN. THE DEPOSIT IS CURRENTLY BEING MINED BYBRUSH-WELLMAN USING OPEN PIT METHODS. MINING OF THIS DEPOSIT BEGAN IN THE 1980'S.

Comment (Deposit): THIS IS ONE OF TWO PITS CURRENTLY SUPPLYING BRUSH-WELLMAN'S MILL AND PROCESSING FACILITY. THE OTHER OPERATING PIT IS IN THE BLUE CHALK DEPOSIT. Comment (Deposit): DEPOSIT IS A REPLACEMENT OF THE BERYLLIUM TUFF MEMBER OF THE SPOR MOUNTAIN FORMATION. BE TRANSPORTED IN HYDROTHERMAL SOLUTIONS AS A FLUORIDE COMPLEX AND DEPOSITED UPON PRECIPITATION OF FLUORITE REPLACING DOLOMITE IN THE TUFF.
