Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Deposit): TWO HIGH GRADE ZONES MAKE UP THE DEPOSIT. COMPOSITE OF 3 SAMPLES CONTAINED 8.0% TIO2, 0.5% ZRO2, 30.0% FE, AND 0.02% EQUIVALENT THO2. RELATIVE PERCENTAGES OF HEAVY MINERALS PRESENT ARE 92.2 OPAQUES, 5.0 ZIRCON, 1.1 GARNET, AND 1.0 EACH RUTILE, TOURMALINE, AMPHIBOLE, SPHENE, AND APATITE FOR AN UPPER ZONE SAMPLE, AND 97.4 OPAQUES, 1.7 ZIRCON, AND LESS THAN 1.0 GARNET FOR A LOWER ZONE SAMPLE. THE POTENTIAL RESOURCES OF TITANIFEROUS SANDSTONE IN 19 WYOMING DEPOSITS, INCLUDING THE MUD CREEK, ARE 21,873,000 ST WITH WEIGHTED AVERAGE GRADE PERCENTS OF 5.22 TIO2, 0.55 ZRO2, 24.75 FE, AND 0.15 EQUIVALENT THO2. Comment (Production): DEPOSIT HAS NEVER PRODUCED.
Comment (General): Dates of production and discovery are problematic. Last production supposedly in 1920 but not discovered until 1955?
