Comments
Comment (Deposit): TIN OCCURS AS CASSITERITE IN TOURMALINE VEINS IN COARSE GRANITE. SOME QUARTZ VEINS SCATTERED IN THE VEINS.
Comment (Workings): 65 VEINS, 10 OF WHICH HAVE BEEN EXPLORED BY TUNNELS AND SHAFTS.
Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: TIN OCCURS AS CASSITERITE IN BLACK TOURMALINE VEINS IN COARSE-GRAINED HORNBLENDE-BIOTITE GRANITE. 65 VEINS ARE PRESENT, 10 HAVE BEEN EXPLORED. THEY VARY FROM 1 INCH TO 15 FT. IN WIDTH, AVERAGING 1 TO 2 FT. GENERAL TREND IS N 20 TO 50 E, DIPPING 50 TO 85 N.W. VEINS CONTAIN QUARTZ ALSO. MOST VEINS ARE LESS THAN 1000 FT. LONG AND DISCONTINUOUS. THE MAIN VEIN, CAJALCO, IS OVER 690 FT. IN DEPTH. COUNTRY ROCK IS A QUARTZ MONZONITE (?). CALJACO IS EXPOSED OVER 550 FT. IN LENGTH,STRIKES N 55 E, DIPS 55 TO 80 N.W., 1 INCH TO 5 FT. 10 INCHES THICK. CASSITERITE OCCURS AS DISSEMINATIONS, BUNCHES AND STRINGERS
