Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comment (Geology): ASSOCIATED WITH 'DIORITE DIKES', SCHISTS AND GNEISS (ALL ARE CRUSH ED AND BROKEN)
Comment (Deposit): "An 8 ft vein of quartz cuts red granite and crops out for several hundred feet. The granite is associated with "diorite dikes," schists, and gneiss, all of which are crushed and broken. Locally the quartz outcrop contains malachite and azurite, and some masses of "iron and copper sulphide ores." This prospect is a part of the Portland Group." (Bull. 50, p. 41)
