Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Development): ORE PRODUCTION CAPACITY BETWEEN 300,000 AND 500,000 TONNES/YEAR. OPERATION SUSPENDED IN 1988.
Comment (Identification): Identity is ambiguous. This record is the only one in the Mining Mag. table for any U mines in this area, therefore it probably refers to the former processing plant about 2 mi. NE of Jeffrey City tucked in Sweetwater Rocks, south of Sweetwater River and the Oregon Trail. From this location, deduce that the PLSS is Secs. 1, 2, 11, 12 T29N, R92W.
