Comments
Comment (Workings): ON SUPRISE CLAIM: 450 FT. DRIFT TO WINZE. 1000 FT. OF ADDITIONAL WORKINGS ON THIS LEVEL. OTHER DRIFTS, STOPES. MAIN VEIN NOT DEVEL. BELOW 100 FT. LEVEL. ON EMMA CLAIM: 300 FT. ADIT NEAR CREEK LEVEL, RAISES & DRIFTS.
Comment (Production): LARGEST POCKET YIELDED $44,000, 60% OF TOTAL PRODUCTION WAS FROM ORE POUNDED OUT IN HAND-MORTAR BECAUSE GOLD WAS SO COARSE. NO OTHER PRODUCTION RECORD FOUND.
Comment (Deposit): VEIN ALONG CONTACT. ORE OCCURS IN POCKETS, WHICH LIE ALONG NW AND SE LIMBS OF ANTICLINE, BUT NOT AT CREST. VEIN GOUGE-FILLED WITH MANY SMALL STRINGERS. ON SUPRISE CLAIM: MAIN VEIN ALONG FAULT FRACTURE, WHICH DEPLACES SLATE-ANDESITE CONTACT ABOUT 20 FT. ON EMMA CLAIM: NUMEROUS QUARTZ STRINGERS, WHICH FORM RICH POCKETS AT INTERSECTION WITH SLATE. GOLD OCCURS IN CALCITE ALONG CONTACT AND IN POCKETS, AND IS FOUND AT POINTS WHERE STRINGERS OR VEIN CROSSES CONTACT. SURFACE ORE HONEYCOMBED FROM SOLUTION OF CALCITE AND STAINED IN PLACES BY MANGANESE OXIDE. ORE APPEARED TO BE DEPOSITED ALONG CLEAVAGE PLANES IN CALCITE.
Comment (Location): UTM EST. N 1/2 29. LAND UNSURVEYED FOR TOWNSHIP-RANGE. LAND STATUS VALUE CALCULATED 7-94 USING GIS OVERLAY ANALYSIS WITH USFS LAND OWNERSHIP BOUNDARIES, 1:126,720 SCALE.
Comment (Geology): GREENSTONE DESCRIBED AS GRAY, VERY FINE-GRAINED OR APHANITIC; SLATE AS SOFT, BLACK AND GRAPHITIC
