Comment (Deposit): THE FLAT SHALE BED CONTAINING THE NODULES OF PYROLUSITE AND WAD COVERED THE TOP OF A LOW, ELLIPTICAL SHAPED KNOLL. THE ORE WAS THICKEST ON THE NORTH END AND THINNED ON THE SOUTH END

Comment (Workings): WORKINGS CONSISTED OF AN OPEN PIT

Comment (Geology): THE CUBA MANGANESE DISTRICT IS THE ONLY LOCALITY IN THE STATE WHERE THE CONCRETIONARY MANGANESE NODULES FORMED DURING OR IMMEDIATELY AFTER DEPOSITION OF THE HOST ROCK.

Comment (Production): FARNHAM (1961, P. 78) ALSO REPORTS A FEW TRUCKLOADS OF ORE PRODUCED IN 1957.
