Comment (Location): INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1977)
Comment (Production): PRODUCTION FIGURES NOT AVAILABLE.
Comment (Deposit): ORE ZONES ARE LOCALIZED IN FISSURES WITH QUARTZ FILLINGS, IN DEFORMED AND HIGHLY ALTERED WALLROCKS; ORE IS COMPLETELY OXIDIZED; ORE BODY DIPS S40W
Comment (Deposit): THE TUNNEL BEING A CROSSCUT, PENETRATING THE LOWER PART OF THE 'GREAT BLUE' LIMESTONE AND THE UPPER PART OF THE HUMBUG FORMATION. THE FISSURES INTERSECTED IN THE TUNNEL ALL STRIKE NORTHEAST. MOST OF THEM DIP WEST, BUT ONE SHEETED ZONE ALONG WHICH THE TUNNEL IS DRIVEN FOR ABOUT 300 FEET NEAR THE PORTAL, HAS A SOUTHWARD DIP. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 3 FIELD OBSERV
Comment (Workings): ONE TUNNEL, WHICH RUNS FOR 2,000 FT.; THE COURSE OF TUNNEL AS A WHOLE IS ABOUT S40W; CAVED AND INACCESSIBLE
Comment (Geology): WALLROCKS ARE DEFORMED AND ALTERED. LIMESTONES ARE DARK GRAY, DOLOMITIZED AND SILICIFIED. SHALES ARE GREENISH GRAY TO BLACK, CARBONACEOUS, CALCAREOUS, KAOLINITIC, SERICITIC, AND PILICEOUS. EFFECTS OF LIMONITIZATION ARE VERY SIGNIFICANT ON HOSTROCKS. VEINS OF JASPEROID, QUARTZ AND CALCITE HAVE IMPREGNATED THE WALLROCKS.
