Comments

Comment (Workings): FIVE SHAFTS, THREE STEEPLY INCLINED, WITH AN APPROX. AREA OF 110 FT. (NW-SE) BY 60 FT. (NE-SE). MOST OF THE SHAFTS ARE SHALLOW (15-30 FT.); THE PRINCIPAL, 70 N INCLINE SHAFT MAY BE 100 FT. DEEP.

Comment (Geology): THE GALENA IS IN FINE-GRAINED, BLACK, SOOTY STRINGERS WITH WHITE TO GRAY BORDERS OF CERUSSITE IN A SILICEOUS HEMATITE-LIMONITE GANGUE

Comment (Production): NO RECORDED PRODUCTION.

Comment (Deposit): SMALL SHOOTS OF CERUSSITE-GALENA ORE CLOSE TO THE SURFACE. PITS EAST AND SOUTHEAST OF THE SHAFTS SHOWED NO OBVIOUS MINERALIZATION.

Comment (Deposit): THE PROSPECT PITS EAST AND SOUTHEAST OF THE SHAFT ARE VERY INCONSPICUOUS; ALMOST NO OXIDES ARE PRESENT ON THE DUMP, GIVING THEM THE SAME COLOR AS THE COUNTRY ROCK. LIMONITE AND HEMATITE ARE ABUNDANT AT THE SHAFT.
