Comment (Development): ECON.COM: SHIPPED 3,249 TONS OF OXIDIZED ORE IN 1907 AND 7,000 TONS OF ORE PRIOR TO 1940 (HUNTTING, 1956, P. 52).
Comment (Deposit): THE KEY EAST DEPOSIT (FORMERLY THE COPPER KEY) AND THE NEARBY KEY WEST DEPOSIT ARE IDENTIFIED AREAS THAT CONTAIN GOLD RESERVES. THESE DEPOSITS ARE ABOUT A MILE NORTHEAST OF THE OVERLOOK MINE, WHICH IS NOW (1990) BEING MINED BY ECHO BAY/CROWN RESOURCES. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
Comment (Geology): THE KEY EAST DEPOSIT IS IN PERMIAN-TRIASSIC LIMESTONE, DOLOMITIC LIMESTONE, ARGILLITE, AND GRAYWACKE. THE ORE BODIES LIE NEXT TO A NETWORK OF DIKES, SILLS, AND INTRUSIVE BODIES OF THE SCATTER CREEK RHYODACITE (MUESSIG, 1967, P. 113).
