Comments
Comment (Deposit): FLUORSPAR OCCURS IN LENSES AND IRREGULAR POCKETS IN BRECCIATED QUARTZITIC SANDSTONE. THE ORE MATERIAL IS VERY SIMILAR TO THAT OF THE RED CLOUD DEPOSIT. IT IS IN AN AGGREGATE OF FRAGMENTS OF DENSE FINE-GRAINED PURPLE FLUORSPAR AND ROCK IN A SOFT FE-STAINED MATRIX OF LOOSELY CEMENTED TINY FLUORITE CRYSTALS, GRANULATED BARITE, AND CLAY. OTHER MINERALS INCLUDE CALCITE, QUARTZ, AND OCCASIONALLY APPRECIABLE AMOUNTS OF BASTNASITE.
Comment (Development): THE USBM PERFORMED SOME TRENCHING AND SAMPLING IN 1943 AND 1944. THE DEPOSIT IS LOCATED ON THE PATENTED HOOSIER GIRL CLAIM.
Comment (Workings): WORKINGS CONSIST OF THREE SHAFTS (ONE ON EACH ORE LENS) RANGING IN DEPTH FROM 20 TO 35 FT AND SEVERAL TRENCHES, ALL MADE BY THE USBM IN 1943.
Comment (Location): IN THE CIBOLA NATIONAL FOREST. ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1954)
