Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: MANGANESE OXIDE ORE EXPOSED OVER STRIKE LENGTH OF 235 FT, STRIKING N. 10 TO 40 W., AND DIPPING 20 TO 55 N. E. BOTH WALLS ARE SHALY CHERT. ORE BED IS 1 1/2 TO 3 FT. THICK, AVERAGING 2 FT., AND CONSISTS OF 2 LAYERS. 1 FT. OF ORE ON THE HANGING WALL IS HIGH GRADE, ABOUT 45 PERCENT MANGANESE, AND 1 TO 2 FT. NEAR THE FOOTWALL IS SILICEOUS OXIDE ORE, ABOUT 25 PERCENT MANGANESE.
