Comment (Deposit): LA SECRETARIA DE MINERIA DE LA NACION INICIO LAS TAREAS DE PROSPECCION EN EL VALLE DEL CURA EN NOVIEMBRE DE 1980, DESARROLLANDOSE INICIALMENTE TAREAS DE PROSPRCCION REGIONAL EN ESCALA 1:200.000, SOBRE UNA SUPERFICIE DE APROXIMADAMENTE 3500 KM2, DESARROLLANDO TAREAS DE MUESTREO GEOQUIMICO, SEDIMENTOS DE CORRIENTE, ESTUDIOS PETROGRAFICOS, CALCOGRAFICOS Y ALTERACIONES. SOBRE UNAS 700 MUESTRAS GEOQUIMICAS, LOS VALORES DE ORO DETERMINADOS POR ABSORCION ATOMICA VARIARON ENTRE 0.2 Y 22.4 PPM, CON ANOMALIAS DE AG DE MAS DE 500 PPM. DURANTE 1982/83 SE INICIARON TAREAS DE PROSPECCION ESTRATEGICA EN LAS ZONAS JAGUELITO, VELADERO Y LOS AMARILLOS DELIMITANDO AREAS DE ALTERACION INTERESANTES. EN EL ANO 1987 SE REALIZO UN LEVANTAMIENTO TOPOGRAFICO GEOLOGICO ESCALA 1:3000 DE UNA SUPERFICIE DE APROX. 4 KM2, CON MUESTREO DE ESQUIRLAS Y CALICATAS SOBRE 58 MUESTRAS LITOQUIMICAS Y 38 PARA ESTUDIOS PETROGRAFICOS Y DE ALTERACION, LA RESPUESTA FUE QUE TRES MUESTRAS ESTAN POR ENCIMA DE 0.5 PPM DE AU, Y UNA DE

Comment (Workings): 14 DIAMOND DRILL HOLES TOTALLING 5,400 FT., AND 300 FT. OF OPEN CUTS.

Comment (Geology): LARGE ISOCLINAL ANTICLINE HAS SMALLER DRAG FOLDS ON LIMBS; SMALLER FOLDS OVERTURNED TO SW. BOUNDED BY HORNBLENDE SCHIST AND AMPHIBOLITE ON WEST, FOLIATED TONALITE ON EAST.

Comment (Deposit): DRILL DATA INDICATES THAT MINERALIZATION IS PROBABLY CONTINUOUS UNDER SUMDUM GLACIER BETWEEN NORTHERN DEPOSIT (SD-13) AND SOUTHERN DEPOSIT (SD-14). ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT

Comment (Deposit): PLATA REVELO 414 PPM. CON ESTOS DATOS SE CONCLUYO QUE LA MINERALIZACION AURIFERA DEBERIA UBICARSE A NIVELES MAS PROFUNDOS. EN LA ZONA DE VELADERO SE DETERMINARON ESTRUCTURAS TIPO STOCKWORKS CON GRAN DENSIDAD DE VENILLAS ENTRECRUZADAS RELLENAS DE LIMONITA, YESO, ARCILLA Y MANGANESO. SE HAN RECONOCIDO VETAS DE CUARZO CON ESPESORES DE 0.8 A 3 M Y DE 70 A 200 M DE CORRIDA. EN GENERAL LA MINERALIZACION ESTA EN VETAS, FORMANDO CLAVOS EN LA INTERSECCION DE LAS FALLAS Y FRACTURAS. ; INFO.SRC : 2 UNPUB REPT

Comment (Location): ACCESO POR HUELLA MINERA, AGUA ES ABUNDANTE Y DIFIERE EN SU CALIDAD PARA USO HUMANO POR LA CONTAMINACION QUE PRODUCEN LOS SURGENTES TERMALES, EL CLIMA ES CONTINENTAL SECO DE ALTA MONTANA, CON VIENTOS PREDOMINANTES DEL SECTOR NW-SE INCREMENTANDOSE A COMIENZOS DE LA PRIMAVERA , ABUNDANTES NEVADAS EN INVIERNO. (EL AREA ESTA LIMITADA POR LOS PARELELOS 2910' Y 30 07' Y LOS MERIDIANOS 6930' Y 7000'W)

Comment (Commodity): ORO NATIVO CON PARTICULAS TAMANO 34 MICRONES

Comment (Production): LA ZONA DE ZANCARRON HA SIDO EXPLOTADA EN FORMA SEMIMECANIZADA CON EL FIN DE REALIZAR ENSAYOS A ESCALA INDUSTRIAL CON RECUPERACION DE AU MEDIATE CIANURACION Y LIXIVIACION EN PILAS.

Comment (Deposit): MINERALIZED ZONES 1-50 FT. WIDE ALONG CREST AND FLANKS OF LARGE NW-STRIKING, GENTLY SE PLUNGING, ISOCLINAL, ANTICLINAL FOLD IN INTERLAYERED BIOTITE-PLAGIOCLASE AND HORNBLENDE-PLAGIOCLASE GNEISS. POTENTIAL ORE BODIES ON MINOR FOLDS ON LARGER FOLD LIMBS, PARALLEL TO AXIS OF LARGE ANTICLINE. SOME ORE ZONES FOLLOW BRECCIATED FAULT ZONES. DISSEMINATED AND LOCALLY MASSIVE PYRRHOTITE AND PYRITE BODIES CONTAINING CHALCOPYRITE AND SPHALERITE WITH SMALL AMOUNTS OF BORNITE, CHALCOCITE, MALACHITE, AZURITE, AND GALENA ARE PARALLEL TO FOLIATION OF GNEISS, STRIKING N 25 DEGREES-50 DEGREES W. QUARTZ IS DOMINANT GANGUE MINERAL, AND FORMS VEINS AND LENSES. MASSIVE SULFIDE BODIES ARE UP TO 50 FT. LONG AND 15 FT. THICK. IF MINERALIZATION BETWEEN AREA 3 NORTH OF SUMDUM GLACIER AND AREAS 4 AND 5 SOUTH OF THE GLACIER IS CONTINUOUS, THE DEPOSIT WOULD HAVE A STRIKE LENGTH OF 10,000 FT., WITH 1,000 FT. OF DOWN-DIP MINERALIZATION EXPOSED.
