Comments
Comment (Location): LOCATED IN S 1/2 SECTION 35 , UTM APPROX.
Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: A BED OF BLACK MANGANESE OXIDES 4 FT. THICK, UNDERLAIN GRADATIONALLY BY A BED OF MASSIVE, YELLOW-BROWN CHERT 5 TO 8 FT. THICK. THE STRUCTURE OF THE ORE BED IS COMPLEX AND MAY BE A FAULTED ANTICLINE. THE ORE BED AND THE UNDERLYING CHERT ARE ENCLOSED IN THIN-BEDDED RED AND GREEN CHERT WITH SHALE PARTINGS. SCATTERED CLUSTERS OF BROWN RADIATING CRYSTALS MAY BE BEMENTITE.
Comment (Production): ABOUT 40 TONS OF ORE HAS BEEN REMOVED AND PILED IN DUMPS AROUND THE CUT. THIS ORE PROBABLY AVERAGES 40 TO 45 PERCENT MANGANESE.
Comment (Workings): CUT 10-FT. WIDE AND 10-FT. DEEP, DRIVEN 40 FEET.
Comment (Deposit): 2 PROSPECT IN SE1/4 ON MF-279; MN ON PSFC MAP.
