Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: ORE BEDS LIE PARALLEL WITHIN RED FRANCISCAN RADIOLARIAN CHERTS, WITH A TOTAL THICKNESS OF 25 FT. CHERTS STRIKE N 60 W AND DIP 45 N. THE CHERT AND MANGANESE ORE BODIES ARE UNDERLAIN BY GREENSTONES; AND CUT BY SMALL FAULTS. THE ORE IS MASSIVE OPALINE IRON MANGANESE, WHICH IS HARD, BRITTLE, AND VARIOUS COLORS. SOME PSILOMELANE IS FOUND IN RED IRON OXIDE PARTINGS WITHIN THE CHERT.
