Comment (Geology): GRANITE OUTCROPS NEAR HEAD OF CREEK. AT ONE LOCALITY NEAR HEAD, 500 FT. BACK FROM CREEK WHERE A SHALLOW DEPOSIT WAS BEING WORKED, DEPOSITS SHOWED 6 FEET OF SLIDE ROCK, CLAY, SAND, FINE GRAVEL, AND NEXT TO BEDROCK 1 FT. OF COARSE GRAVEL.

Comment (Location): USGS MF-410, LOC. 52. PLACER GROUND ALONG FOX CREEK, A SOUTH FLOWING TRIBUTARY OF GOLDSTREAM CREEK. COORDINATES GIVEN FOR CENTER PLACER. LAND STATUS VALUE CALCULATED 6-94 USING GIS OVERLAY ANALYSIS WITH BLM 1:2,500,000 SCALE OWNERSHIP STATUS MAP (1991).

Comment (Development): PLACER GOLD MINED SPORADICALLY FROM 1908 TO 1926. MINED BY HAND METHODS ONLY. LODE NEAR MOUTH HAS BEEN PROSPECTED FOR GOLD.
