Comments

Comment (Commodity): ALTHOUGH TIN CONTENT MAY BE AS HIGH AS 12 POUNDS/TON, THE OREBEARING STRINGERS ARE TOO SMALL TO BE MINED SEPARATELY AND BULK MINING METHODS WOULD GREATLY REDUCE THE AVERAGE GRADE OF THE ORE.

Comment (Deposit): DEPOSITS OCCUR IN ZONES OF ALTERED RHYOLITE AS WIDELY SCATTERED, NORTHERLY TRENDING STRINGERS. THE STRINGERS RANGE FROM THIN FILMS TO ONE IN THICK AND FROM ONE FT. TO 30 FT. LONG. 2 UNPATENTED CLAIMS COVERING ABOUT 40 ACRES.

Comment (Workings): WORKINGS REPORTED IN 1947 CONSISTED OF 5 OPENCUTS, 9 TRENCHES AND 3 VERY SHALLOW SHAFTS.

Comment (Geology): FOR REGIONAL GEOLOGY SEE BLACK RANGE DISTRICT.

Comment (Location): LOCATED ON THE WEST FLANK OF THE BLACK RANGE IN THE GILA NATIONAL FOREST ON THE WEST SIDE OF SCALES CREEK JUST NORTH OF THE JUNCTION WITH TAYLOR CREEK.

Comment (Production): ESTIMATED TOTAL PRODUCTION OF 1350 POUNDS OF ORE CONTAINING ABOUT 50 % SN.
